Annual Washington State testing begins in May. The Smarter Balanced Assessment, i-Ready and WCAS are all intended to assess a student's academic progress and they do not need to study for these tests. All grades will have assessments in their homeroom class from 8:10 a.m. - 10:05 a.m. on the following dates...

May 1st  and 2nd – SBA ELA for all students

May 8th – i-Ready for 6th & 7th grade students; WCAS (Science) for 8th grade students

May 9th – i-Ready continues for all students

May 15th and 16th – SBA Math for all students

A few things to keep in mind:

  • When possible, please try to avoid checking your student out during their testing window.
  • It is important for students to have a good night sleep and come to school on time and feeling rested.
  • Students should have a paper copy of a book to read for when they finish testing.
  • Electronics such as iPads, Kindles, smartphones, Apple Watches, etc. are not allowed to be turned on during testing.
  • Please make sure your student brings their school issued laptop, charger and headphones that can be plugged in to the computer.  Wireless headphones are prohibited during testing.

All students will need WIRED headphones for the SBA and WCAS testing. If you would like to pay for these at school, your student can bring $2 to the bookkeeper now, or pay online!
They will be given their headphones on the first day of testing.
