Saying hello to our new Bulldogs!

upcoming events

The new year is an exciting time for school staff, as we begin preparations to meet and welcome elementary students and their families in preparation for 6th grade.

Introduction to the Course Request Process

On Monday, February 13th, Beaver Lake Middle School Counselors and Administrators will host Course Request Zoom meetings with all 5th grade elementary students who live within the boundaries of our school; these events will happen in elementary classrooms during the school day. The Zoom link will be shared with 5th grade teachers for these events.

Later that same day, we will then host a 5th Grade Parent Night (also on zoom), from 6:30pm – 7:30pm. BLMS staff will review the middle school course request process, that will have been shared with students earlier in the day during classroom Zoom meetings, and introduce ‘Student Access’, an online system available to their student to indicate their preferred courses for 2023-2024. This system is similar to Family Access, which all parents are familiar with.

Instructions for accessing student district email, Student Access and the Course Request Process will be sent to families in early February, and we encourage you to check both your own, and your student’s login information, before the Parent Night.  You can also find details on the district website here.   A zoom link for the Parent Night meeting will be provided to 5th grade families, on the day, by email and via the BLMS website

This year all course requests must be submitted through Student Access but any choices selected can be changed (at any time) between it going live on Monday Feb 6th and closing on Tuesday February 28th  at 8:00am.  The system will then ‘lock’ and students will no longer be able to amend their choices, allowing our staff to start to plan schedules.   Later in the year we will be communicating the processes in place for essential choice changes.

If it would be helpful to receive any of the Course Request Process information in another language, we encourage you to reach out to our ISD Family Liason, Wenli Mithal–( 普通話)

Student visits to Beaver Lake MS
BLMS is working with elementary schools in our feeder pattern to schedule a school day visit this Spring. This school day visit will allow students to see our campus and hear from middle school students about the transition to middle school and BLMS’s program and offerings.

Bulldog Business Day
Every year we welcome all students on to campus, a few days before the start of the new school year, to purchase essential items and receive locker allocations. More details will follow nearer the time.
