6th Graders Channel Ancient Engineers: Building Pyramids in Social Studies

Students stand with pyramid

6th graders build pyramids and try to work out how the Egyptians might have done it. 6th grade social studies teachers, Ken Sylvester and Makenzie Tiemeyer, had great fun with students last week. Ken shared:

"This activity is part of our Egypt curriculum for 6th grade looking at Egyptian culture, religion, leaders, etc. Typically students study facts and photos about the pyramids; so, we decided to have them build one of their own. We also cover the theories of how the pyramids were built, and that the answer to that question is still unknown."
