Teachers Win Issaquah Schools Foundation Grant!

Staff and students were thrilled to see representatives from the Issaquah Schools Foundation in our building on Monday January 29 2024, awarding two separate grants to teachers who had applied for funding:

• Karen Harmon, Art Teacher, expressed sincere thanks about the difference that the grant money would make to the art elective classes being offered at Beaver Lake Middle School next year.  
• Katharine Chrisman, ELA, was also delighted sharing that she planned to use the grant money to buy books that better represent all the students in the classroom - an important step in encouraging and developing reading through the middle school grades.

Cecilia Lee, Programs Manager, at the Issaquah Schools Foundation shared with the students that teachers apply each year for funding to enrich the programs offered in schools. "This is really the nicest part of my job, sharing the donations made to the foundation with the teachers "  

All of the staff and students at Beaver Lake Middle School would like to thank the Foundation for their continued support in our building, both with the many academic grants we benefit from and their ongoing contributions to our breakfast program and after school study hall.
